HerpChip Mini from HerpXotics is a premium coco husk substrate that is 100% organic, sustainably sourced and perfect for all reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates. HerpChip Mini is made from coconut husk generated as a by-product of other industries, making it a sustainable resource. Similar to HerpHusk, the main difference is the larger and uniform size of the pieces. HerpChip is also available, which has even larger particulate pieces (see our other listings).
When made damp this substrate holds humidity very well, making it perfect for animals requiring high levels of moisture. It’s manufacturing process involves sterilisation so it should not mould or rot, even if made incredibly damp. It can also be used dry for species from arid environments.
It is highly absorbent and keeps odours at bay. Easy to clean and replace these loose bags are dust extracted and ready to use. A favourite of our customers, we have found this substrate perfect for hatchling and juvenile Royal/Ball Pythons, though it works equally as well in large vivariums for other snakes and lizards.
