This natural sand substrate is perfect for recreating dry, arid environments for invertebrates such as desert scorpions and other species that thrive in low humidity conditions.

The fine particles allow for natural movement and burrowing behaviour, while also retaining heat effectively, helping to maintain suitable enclosure temperatures when used with appropriate heating.

For more advanced setups, this sand can be mixed with Zoo Med Creatures Soil to create a more varied substrate that mimics natural scrubland environments, allowing for better humidity control where required.

Sand is easy to maintain and can be spot cleaned by removing waste and debris with a scoop or similar tool, making it a practical choice for many enclosures.

Directions for Use

Spread substrate evenly across the enclosure base, ensuring a depth of approximately 2″ (5cm) for burrowing species. For non-burrowing species, use as a top layer and replenish as needed. Avoid overfilling when using underfloor heating. Spot clean regularly and replace as required.
