This specially formulated substrate is ideal for creating naturalistic invertebrate enclosures, allowing species to dig, burrow and form stable tunnel systems without the risk of collapse when kept appropriately moist.

The blend of natural materials provides both structure and moisture retention, making it particularly suitable for humidity-dependent species such as tarantulas, scorpions and millipedes.

Creature Soil is also well suited for planted setups, helping to support live plants while maintaining a stable environment within the enclosure.

For more varied and naturalistic setups, this substrate can be combined with Zoo Med Creatures Sand to create mixed environments with different textures and humidity zones.

Directions for Use

Spread substrate evenly across the enclosure base, ensuring a depth of approximately 2″ (5cm) for burrowing species. For non-burrowing species, use as a top layer and replenish as needed. Avoid overfilling when using underfloor heating. Spot clean regularly and replace as required.
