Frozen multimammates, commonly known as Multis or African Soft Furred Rats (ASFs), are a highly popular feeder rodent for snakes, particularly Royal Pythons (Ball Pythons) and other reptile species.

Multimammates are a natural prey item for Royal Pythons in parts of Africa, making them an excellent feeding option for snakes that may refuse mice or rats. Many keepers use multis to encourage stubborn or picky Ball Pythons to feed.

They can also be used as an alternative feeder rodent for other reptiles, helping provide dietary variety and enrichment.

Our frozen multimammates are sourced from high-quality rodent producers and are rapidly frozen to preserve freshness and nutritional value. They are an excellent feeding option for a wide range of reptiles and other carnivorous animals.

These weight brackets allow reptile keepers to select the most appropriate prey size for their snake. As a general guideline, the prey item should be similar in size to, or slightly larger than, the widest part of the snake’s body.

Storage Information

Frozen multimammates should be stored in a freezer and thawed fully before feeding.

• Defrost thoroughly before use
• Never refreeze once thawed
