Herp Bedding makes an excellent substrate for reptiles, small mammals, and other animals. It’s made from compressed wood fibre, mostly Spruce, just like Lignocel®. It has been designed to provide a safe, natural, and absorbent environment. Herp Bedding is highly absorbent and will quickly soak up any waste or water spillages, so makes a great option for messy snakes; such as Bull snakes and False Water Cobras. It’s absorbent nature also helps to reduce potential smells linked to waste production, keeping the enclosure smelling fresh, and reducing the need for frequent changes.

It’s absorbent nature makes it a great option for snake tubs, particularly for Royal Pythons (aka Ball Pythons) and colubrids like Corn Snakes and Hognoses. It quickly absorbs water and waste material decreasing the likelihood of mould developing; whilst also maintaining a level of humidity. The reduced airflow in certain tub setups can cause a build up of bad odours and unnecessarily high humidity; Herp Bedding helps keep both of these issues to a minimum.

Herp Bedding has a much lower dust content, which keeps mess to a minimum whilst reduces the risk of respiratory issues for both the animal and the keeper. It’s soft nature and fine particles reduces the likelihood of injuries that might occur with other harsher substrates (like cedar or pine), and decreases potential issues if accidentally ingested.

Herp Bedding is completely natural and non-toxic to animals, making it a safe choice for most species. It doesn’t contain harmful chemicals or oils that could irritate an animal’s skin or respiratory system. It is made from renewably sourced trees; mostly Spruce or Fir, and is completely biodegradable.

Directions for Use:
Spread a few centimetres of Herp Bedding in the enclosure, ensuring it covers the entire bottom surface. Remove soiled areas regularly to keep the substrate fresh. Herp Bedding is easy to spot-clean. Replace the entire substrate periodically (usually every few weeks) or as needed, depending on the size of the animal and how dirty the substrate becomes.
