Frozen rats are one of the most widely used feeder rodents for snakes, particularly larger species such as pythons and boas. As a whole prey item they provide a complete nutritional profile including protein, fat, vitamins and minerals.

Our frozen rats are bred on fully licensed rodent farms in Europe where they are raised on high quality diets in clean environments. All rodents are health certified by veterinarians and regularly tested to ensure consistent quality and hygiene.

Following humane dispatch, rodents are flash frozen and stored in specialist walk-in freezers before being shipped to customers in insulated poly boxes packed with dry ice to maintain freezing temperatures during transit.

These weight brackets allow reptile keepers to select the most appropriate prey size for their snake. As a general guideline, the prey item should be slightly larger than the widest part of the snake’s body.

Frozen rats can be safely stored in a freezer for up to 6 months.

Frozen Rodent Delivery Information

Frozen rodents are shipped in insulated poly boxes packed with dry ice to ensure they remain frozen during transit.

• Minimum order value for guaranteed frozen delivery: £50
• Delivery cost: £15 flat rate
• Orders placed before 12 noon Monday–Thursday are shipped the same day for next day delivery
• Orders placed Friday–Sunday will ship Monday for Tuesday delivery
